CLARITY
OF MIND
Love God above all things
and love your neighbor as yourself. - Mathew 22:35-40 |
|
It is our nature to seek meaning in our lives through our thoughts and our actions. In the process of doing so we become attached to certain beliefs. They become our truth. It is through these truths that we see the world and relate to it. Many truths are conditioned from an early age; others are acquired experientially; and, for a growing small minority, truth is sought consciously after the first two kinds grow dim in clarity. Those who seek truth respond to uneasiness within themselves: an awareness of an anxiety that is ever present like the background noise in a large city. It is present but only seemingly perceptible to a few. Those who become aware of it, and have the courage to know the fear behind it, are making a movement to bring clarity to their mind. Clarity means clear vision, to see without impairment. Ocular vision can be impaired by a host of factors such as myopia, pollution and glare. Mind vision can also be obstructed by many factors such as fear, information noise from mass media and prejudices that have long forgotten their source. Think for a moment how the waves of information you are subject to can preoccupy and influence your mind. This non-stop information is a manipulation of the mind by a few who want you to think a certain way in order to sell you products, ideas and "truth". Those with "power"
frequently manipulate truth in order to transform belief. For example,
young children are generally believed to be precious and in need of protection
because of their innocence. In times of war those who orchestrate it want
us to believe children who live in the land of "my" enemy (and
sometimes even in my own land) are necessary victims for the sake of another
truth. Consider for a moment what the real truth is: the innocence of
children or the war that violates innocence. Consider it again after reading
what is written below. Truth is often confused with perception. Perception is experiential and limited in scope by the shifting physical, emotional and mental receptivity of the one who is experiencing. When we are fully aware in the moment we break through the limits of perception and the observer and the observed become one. Truth is then no longer dependent on the perceiver nor the perceived for validation. There comes an awareness that truth simply is and exists beyond all observers and perceptions. It is then we also come to know truth can't be manipulated, such as by debate, because the debater depends on winning the competition to validate his individual perceptions and himself; and winning is only perceived. The phrase at the beginning of this essay may be the truth; or perhaps, Christ may be showing us a way to arrive at the truth. I believe truth is contained within each of us - in our divine nature. We can only see it clearly when we are fully present with unobstructed mind vision. Truth, as we can humanly know it, is the individual's highest awareness and its projection into form. Truth knows who we are as humans and our much grander spiritual being. It holds within it the meaning of our relationship to God, one another and all else. It is also the key to good health, abundance and harmony in our lives. Clarity of mind allows you to see yourself as a unique expression and in essence indistinguishable from the Whole of which all are part. A clear mind requires the intention to be fully cognizant of self physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. You have within you all you require to see with clarity. First, know that you are much more than simply your body. The body is a tool for communication and experience. It is sensually equipped to allow you to interact with the environment and one another. Through it you can conceptualize, express and experience. Second, trust that you have
access at all times to your spiritual self; and that it is able to cooperate
towards creating your greatest expression as a human being. You need only
will it and be open to its involvement. Third, reassess your beliefs.
Let go of limiting allegiances. Fourth, foster tolerance of others. Fifth,
understand your fears. Sixth, trust your highest vision of self. |

SUNSCREEN
VERSUS THE SUN
|
|
A huge industry has arisen from this fear. The makers of sunscreen promise us to protect our skin from the deadly solar rays while allowing us to bask in its warmth and goodness. Despite evidence to the contrary about the sun, manufacturers continue to use fearful and misleading information to sell their products. And they have the audacity to imply our bodies lack the capacity to manage the sun as they have done for centuries past and that we don't have the common sense to safely be in the sun. As we have been led to fear
the sun, we have been diverted away from the necessary information about
its benefits. Dr. Mercola, in a recent website article and sound clip,
reveals some necessary attributes of the sun to our health and important
considerations about sunscreen. Below is a summary of what he says. I
encourage you to read the entire article and research other material to
collaborate it. http://products.mercola.com/summer-survival-kit/?source=nl |

Over exposure to the sun and the way we manage ourselves in its presence can be detrimental to our health. Dr. Marcela offers some safe methods for managing your exposure to the sun. |

Enjoy your summer, the sun and its health benefits. Use common sense when interacting with sunshine.
